The Communication and Financial Knowledge Center (CFKC) is a knowledge platform and one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Finance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ministry launched the platform under its current name in 2020. It is concerned with financial education and knowledge exchange to raise financial awareness and promote communication partnerships with stakeholders in the financial and economic system. Furthermore, it supports the efforts of the Ministry of Finance to improve the Kingdom's position at the regional and global levels, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The center was first established in 1976 as the Financial Information Center. At that time, it consisted of the Department of Information Services, Media Programs, Television Photography and Imaging Laboratories. In 1981, economic analysis was added to the center's duties, and its name was changed from the National Information Center to the National Center for Financial and Economic Information.
In 2017, the center's role was activated according to the Ministry of Finance strategy (2017-2020), and its duties related to partnership and knowledge support with stakeholders. In 2020, the center was called the Communication and Financial Knowledge Center, and it adopted a new strategy (2020-2025).
CFKC activities
CFKC follows up on all developments in the financial and economic levels. It also issues daily media reports that review the most crucial economic changes resulting from COVID-19, and the effects of these changes on global markets, in addition to the most important local and international news about the virus, and economic developments at the local and global levels. The center aims to build effective partnerships between officials in the public sector, and officials and specialists in the financial and economic sectors in order to spread knowledge, and exchange opinions and discussions.
CFKC Initiatives
CFKC launched three initiatives that seek to achieve its goal of developing financial knowledge: Diwaniya Initiative, Knowledge Journey Initiative, and Financial Awareness Exhibition. The idea behind Diwaniya Initiative revolves around specialized knowledge enhancement through a series of discussion sessions with various leaders and experts in the financial and economic sectors to discuss the most important thematic and renewable financial and economic issues. It also aims to solidify communication and knowledge partnership to spread the financial culture among target groups, link it with technical advancements, and share lessons learned from successful experiences.
