His Excellency Motleb Bin Abdullah al-Nafisah (born in 1937) is a Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Life

He was born in Riyadh al-Khabra in al-Qassim Province. He completed his university education with a Bachelor's degree in Law from Cairo University in Egypt in 1962. He was then sent on a scholarship to Harvard University in Massachusetts, USA, where he obtained his Master's and Ph.D. in Law between 1971 and 1975.

Early career

He began his professional career in 1962 when he was appointed as a legal advisor in the Council of Ministers, and then as Deputy Director General at the Institute of Public Administration. During this time, he also started practicing law in his private office. After returning from the United States in 1975, he was appointed as the Head of the Expert Division in the Council of Ministers, which is currently known as the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers.

Positions

He held several government positions, starting with his appointment as a legal advisor to the Council of Ministers and Deputy Director General at the Institute of Public Administration. He was then appointed as the Head of the Expert Bureau at the Council of Ministers from 1975 to 1995. In 1995, he became a Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers. Additionally, he served as the Secretary-General and a member of the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Minerals from 1999 until 2015. On September 27, 2022, a Royal Order was issued to reconstitute the Council of Ministers and reappoint him as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers.

Memberships

He held membership in the following bodies: the Supreme Economic Council, the Civil Service Council, and the Military Service Council. He was also a member of the Ministerial Committee for the Cooperative Health Insurance Law, the Higher Committee for Preparing the Law of Provinces, the Ministerial Committee for Administrative Organization, the Higher Committee for Preparing the Shura Council Law, and the Higher Committee for Preparing the Basic Law of Governance.
