Dukhna Neighborhood is one of the largest neighborhoods in old Riyadh City. It was named this way in reference to an old well that used to irrigate several orchards The neighborhood is located south of al-Safat Square in Riyadh City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To the east, it is bordered by al-Qadimah and al-Dahou neighborhoods, and to the west by al-Sharqiyah Neighborhood.

Significance of Dukhna Neighborhood

In the past, the neighborhood was distinguished by the fact that most of its residents were jurists and scholars of Islamic law. Additionally, a number of its houses hosted lessons in Islamic sciences, and it held significant importance during the era of the Second Saudi State.

Mosques in Dukhna Neighborhood

Dukhna Neighborhood used to have two mosques: the mosque of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab (currently known as the Mosque of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al al-Sheikh). It is the oldest mosque in Riyadh and was built after Riyadh joined the Second Saudi State. The two schools were attached to it: Al Mufairij School and Al Musaybih School, which taught children the basics of reading, writing, and memorizing the Holy Quran. The second is the mosque of Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdulaziz Al al-Sheikh, which is known as Ibn Shalwan Mosque.
