His Royal Highness Prince Saud Bin Naif Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born in 1965) has served as the Governor of the Eastern Province since 2013, succeeding Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He is the fifth Prince of the Eastern Province and the eldest son of Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz.
Education of Prince Saud Bin Naif
Prince Saud Bin Naif was born in Riyadh and completed all his primary education stages at Model Capital Institute in Riyadh. He then traveled to the United States to pursue his higher education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Portland in Oregon.
The early career of Prince Saud Bin Naif
He held his first position in 1986 as the Deputy to the General President for Youth Welfare (currently the Ministry of Sport) before he was appointed by King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Deputy Prince of the Eastern Province in 1992. He was appointed by a Royal Order as the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Spain with the rank of a Minister in 2003. Subsequently, in 2011, he became an Advisor to the Second Deputy Prime Minister and an Assistant to the Minister of Interior with the rank of a Minister. Finally, in 2013, he was appointed as the Governor of the Eastern Province.
Prince Saud served as the Chairman of the Supreme Authority and the General Supervisor of the Naif Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for the Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies. He was a member of several boards of directors, trustees, and intellectual and cultural bodies. Furthermore, he participated in several Arab and international conferences and was a founding member of the King Salman Center for Disability Research.
