Presidency of State Security

The Presidency of State Security is the presidency officially responsible for all matters related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's security. It was founded in 2017 and is directly affiliated to the Prime Minister.

The Presidency of State Security manages five military sectors after its separation from the Ministry of Interior, namely: the General Directorate of Investigation, the Special Security Forces, the Special Emergency Forces, the Security Aviation, and the‏ General Administration of Technical Affairs. It has been assigned the number 990 for communication and receiving reports. Its administrative headquarters is located in Riyadh, the capital, and its president is appointed by a Royal Decree.

The Presidency of State Security is responsible for protecting the internal security of the state and financial investigations, in cooperation with other security sectors. It monitors the activities of extremist groups, combats terrorism through coordination and information exchange with relevant entities, and oversees anything that could disrupt public order and endanger the security of people and the country.

The Presidency of State Security is the official authority representing the Kingdom in the International Center for Targeting Terrorism Financing, which was established by the Kingdom in 2017, in collaboration with the United States of America and with the membership of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Its headquarters is located in the capital, Riyadh.

The presidency strives to improve the work efficiency between government departments in the framework of combating extremism and terrorism and drying up its sources of funding internally and externally through coordination, information exchange, and collaboration with authorities specialized in combating terrorism in various countries with a common goal.
