The National Center for Water Research and Studies is one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's national centers, focused on the water research sector. It is affiliated with the Water Agency of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The center works to develop the research system in the water sector and establish and reactivate partnerships.

Functions of the National Center for Water Research and Studies

The National Center for Water Research and Studies is mandated with a variety of tasks and responsibilities for the development of water research in the Kingdom. These include contributing to the evaluation of the various fields of water studies; following up on international cooperation agreements in water fields; strengthening research and development activities; identifying national priorities for water research; and developing and building partnerships in the field of water research.

The National Center for Water Research and Studies and the Water Agency

The National Center for Water Research and Studies is one of five directorates of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture's Water Agency, namely: the General Directorate of Water Planning; General Directorate General of Water Resources and Rationalization; General Directorate of Water Regulation; General Directorate of Water Information and Risks; and the National Center for Water Research and Studies. The Water Agency is entrusted with all work in the area of planning, regulation, and rational use of water resources, conducting water research and studies, and the Center for Water Management and Control.
