The Saudi Center for Opinion Polling (SCOP) is a non-profit independent center, founded in 2016 and based in Riyadh City, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The center is licensed by both the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Commerce. It holds registration No. 210 at the National Center for Non-Profit Sector. It specializes in conducting polls and studies on social and economic matters, focusing on describing reality and conducting impact assessments. It is represented by a team comprising over fifty individuals from diverse disciplines.

SCOP objectives

The Saudi Center for Opinion Polling works to build a knowledge base that reflects public opinion and trends in the Kingdom by conducting studies, submitting and analyzing questionnaires, and providing consultations and training programs based on scientific methodologies and practices using modern techniques. It has conducted more than four hundred polls and studies.

SCOP services

The Saudi Center for Opinion Polling provides a range of services. This includes offering the polling service through question formulation and data collection, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, the center offers training service to build surveys and ensure the credibility of data collection and analysis results. Moreover, it provides training for workers on telephone data collection techniques and computer-based statistical processes. Consulting services can also be requested on polling through the consulting service.

SCOP studies

The Saudi Center for Opinion Polling conducted several studies based on scientific principles and global practices, including polls on public education in the Kingdom. The poll assessed citizens' opinions to gauge six key aspects of the educational process. This comes in addition to a study on marriage trends and preferences among Saudis. Additionally, there was a study of the reading status in the Kingdom in light of the spread of social media means, as well as a study on society's perception of Saudi Vision 2030.

E-polls via the 'Tawakkalna Services' app

On February 14, 2023, the Saudi Center for Opinion Polling provided a new service via the 'Tawakkalna Services' app, affiliated with the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence and called 'Surveys.' The first project, 'Health Security,' addresses several aspects, including: the places where citizens seek treatment in the Kingdom, the sources of health knowledge they rely on, and the quality of the food they consume and the water they drink. The 'Health Security' survey was sent to selected samples through the 'Tawakkalna Services' app since the service became available. The survey adheres to the center's methodology, encompassing question formulation, data collection measures, quality assurance procedures, quantitative and qualitative measurement of the aforementioned aspects, statistical analysis of results, and conversion of findings into easily readable and comprehensible reports.

SCOP memberships

The Saudi Center for Opinion Polling is a member of Gallup International, an association that exclusively admits one center per country. Established in 1947 in Switzerland, the association honors the legacy of George Gallup, recognizing his contributions to polling measurement. It is distinct from the American commercial entity known as Gallup Inc. Experts and researchers from the Saudi Center for Opinion Polling joined counterparts from 130 nations at the seventy-fifth session of the Gallup International Conference in Madrid, Spain, from September 25 to 28, 2022. Together, they engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing international public opinion measurements.
