Sahih al-Akhbar Amma Fi Bilad al-Arab Min al-Athar Book (True News about the Antiquities in the Arab Countries) is one of the earliest Saudi publications. It was authored by Mohammad Bin Abdullah Bin Bulayhid and edited by Mohammad Mohyedin Abdulhamid. It was printed in five parts, compiled into two large volumes, at Ansar al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyah Printing House in Cairo, Egypt, in 1970. In 1984, a new edition was published with an updated index prepared by Asaad Suleiman Abdo. This edition consisted of two volumes, one covering geographical names and the other focusing on poetry. The book is part of Abdullah Bin Ibrahim al-Junaidel's collection, as indicated by the author's dedication on the title page.

Reason for writing Sahih al-Akhbar Amma Fi Bilad al-Arab Min al-Athar Book

The author of Sahih al-Akhbar Amma Fi Bilad al-Arab Min al-Athar Book explained that his motivation for writing this book stemmed from the needs of some Arab literary figures living abroad who wished to learn about pre-Islamic poetry, particularly al-Mu'allaqat, and their themes including mountains, waters, hills, meadows, valleys, and certain towns whose names had changed or remained unchanged. They conveyed their interest to Prince Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy of King Abdulaziz) during his trip to attend the San Francisco Conference in the United States in 1945.
