Ibtisamat al-Ayyam fi Intisarat al-Imam Book (Days Smiles in the Victories of the Imam) is one of the earliest publications in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, written by Mohammad Bin Abdullah al-Bulayhid (1883-1957). It is a poetry collection that includes poems in classical Arabic and Nabati poetry, recited on various occasions.

The book was printed in Cairo by al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyyah Press in 1951, consisting of one volume with 363 pages. This poetry collection carries a dedication to Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Al Saud, deputy viceroy of Saudi Arabia. It is one of the contents of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Idris Library.

Elements of Ibtisamat al-Ayyam fi Intisarat al-Imam Book

The collection is divided into three sections: The first includes poems written in honor of King Abdulaziz, the second in honor of his Crown Prince Saud, and the third in honor of Viceroy Prince Faisal, as well as his deputy, Prince Abdullah al-Faisal. The book concludes with various poems on eulogies, miscellaneous topics, and examples of Nabati poetry.

Biography of Abdullah Bin Bulayhid

He was born in Dhat Ghasl, a village in al-Washm, Najd. There, he learned to read and write and read many works of literature, which he used to follow the news of contemporary and past tribes.

He traveled throughout the valleys of the Arabian Peninsula as a warrior, merchant, Zakat collector, and guide, gaining expertise in its landscapes, valleys, plains, mountains, and springs.

In the literary context, Ibn Bulayhid worked hard on compiling the book Sahih al-Akhbar Amma Fi Bilad al-Arab Min al-Athar (True Reports on Antiquities in the Arab Countries) in five volumes and produced a new edition of Sifat Jazirat al-Arab (The Description of the Arabian Peninsula) by al-Hamdani, annexing his annotations and indexes.
