It was discovered in Jawan Tomb, located in Ain Jawan, an archaeological and historical site situated in the northwestern corner of Tarout Bay, at the northernmost point of al-Qatif City, and southeast of Safwa City, in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

History of Jawan necklace

The Jawan necklace dates back to the second century CE and was used as an ornamental piece in the Ain Jawan civilization.

It is displayed at the Saudi National Museum in Riyadh and was selected to be part of a diverse collection of archaeological discoveries from Saudi Arabia, showcased in the Archaeological Masterpieces Through the Ages Exhibition, which toured Europe, Asia, and America. The necklace was discovered during archaeological survey and excavation efforts conducted by the antiquities and museums sector in Saudi Arabia over the past years. It is also part of the discoveries made by Saudi archaeologists and scientific expeditions.
