The Two Gold Bracelets are a pair of gold armlets, open at the ends and designed in an oval shape. Their thickness increases towards the ends. Each bracelet has a diameter of 5.5 cm and a width of four cm. They were discovered in Thaj Archaeological City, the largest archaeological site from the Hellenistic period in eastern Arabia. Thaj City is located within a walled area called the residential mounds, approximately eighty-five km southwest of al-Jubail City in the ‏Eastern Province‏ of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

History of the bracelets

The bracelets date back to the first millennium BCE and are preserved in the National Museum in Riyadh. They are part of Saudi Arabia's archaeological discoveries showcased in the Saudi Archaeological Masterpieces Through the Ages Exhibition. Their discovery is the result of archaeological surveys and excavations conducted by the Antiquities and Museums Sector in Saudi Arabia over the past years, as well as efforts by Saudi archaeologists, scientific missions, and joint research teams. The bracelets are registered under the number 2067/2.

Significance of the bracelets

The bracelets are notable for their highly flexible design, particularly the graduated thickness, which enhances their aesthetic and artistic value. The use of precious materials such as gold reflects the economic prosperity of the Thaj civilization in pre-Islamic times.
