The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established four royal commissions defined as government entities operating within the framework of their responsibilities and mandate. These include:

The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu

Established in 1975, it is the first royal commission founded in the Kingdom. It is responsible for developing and managing cities specialized in petrochemicals and energy-intensive industries in the Kingdom.

Royal Commission for alUla

Established in 2017, it is responsible for overseeing major economic, cultural, and infrastructure development projects, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, ultimately contributing to fostering sustainable growth, diversity, and cultural enrichment.

Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites

Established in 2018, it is a commission with an autonomous administrative and financial legal personality. It is organizationally linked to the Council of Ministers. It has supreme authority over all works, services, and projects within the geographical scope of Makkah al-Mukarramah and the Holy Sites.

Royal Commission for Riyadh City

Established in 1974 as "Arriyadh Development Authority," it was converted into the "Royal Commission for Riyadh City" in 2019. It is responsible for the planning and development of the capital city of Riyadh and the execution of development programs and projects in various fields.
