

Al-Jawf Province, located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is one of the Kingdom's archaeologically rich regions. It comprises ash-Shuwayhitiyyah site, one of the oldest human settlements in history. Its archaeological sites include:
Dumat al-Jandal Oasis
It is one of the historical archaeological sites located in Dumat al-Jandal Governorate. The oasis is home to several historical landmarks, such as Marid Castle, Omar Bin al-Khattab Mosque, al-Dar'i Archaeological Neighborhood, the historical market of Dumat al-Jandal, and al-Jawf Regional Museum.
Ash-Shuwayhitiyyah Site
Located forty-five km north of Sikaka City, it is one of the oldest sites in the ancient Near East. Analytical studies and assessments estimate its age to be around 1.3 million years. Quartz stone tools were discovered at the site. Archaeological findings there indicate that the site dates back to the pre-Acheulean period, along with other East African sites.
Columns of Rajajil
Located approximately ten km south of Sikaka City, the monument consists of several stone columns positioned perpendicularly to sunrise and sunset. They consist of groups of four columns. They date back to the fourth millennium BCE. Excavations revealed findings dating back to the Copper Age, 7,000 years ago.
Camel Carving Site
Located within Sikaka Oasis, the site dates back to the Neolithic Age (between 5600 and 5200 BCE). It comprises twenty-one life-size animal sculptures whose execution differs from the rock art usually found in the Kingdom.
Nabataean Palace in Ithra
Located in al-Qurayyat Governorate, it is believed to date back to the Nabataean Era. It was also used during the Islamic Era.
Archaeological Village in Qiyal Mountains
Qiyal is located northwest of Sikaka City. It comprises the remains of an isolated village. Its construction leads to believe that the site served as a military outpost for ancient trade routes.
Al-Qadeer Palace
Located west of Qara Station, it comprises remains of a stone fortress dating back to 1124. The site is home to Thamudic inscriptions and rock drawings.
Qarrat al-Naysa
The site is home to many inscriptions executed on its rock facades. These inscriptions feature Nabatean and Thamudic inscriptions, in addition to more than one hundred Islamic inscriptions.
Zaabal Castle
Zaabal Historical Castle is located north of Sikaka City. It is one of the oldest castles in the Arabian Peninsula. It dates back to the Nabataean era from the first century BCE to the first century CE. The castle, built on the summit of a rocky mountain, was renovated several times.
Marid Castle
It is located northwest of Sikaka City. Findings there indicate that the site dates back to the Nabataean and Roman eras, from the first century BCE to the first century CE. Remains of a settlement dating back to the Neolithic Age were also found within the site.
