The number of muezzins at the Grand Mosque is twenty-four. The Adhan (call to prayer) times are distributed among the muezzins based on mutual agreement and an organized weekly schedule. This distribution is announced through the account of the Imams and Muezzins Affairs Agency, affiliated with the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, on the platform X, as well as through the authority's media channels.
The muezzin assigned to deliver the Adhan must be present inside the Mukabbiriya one hour ahead of the Adhan. Each prayer has a muezzin, as well as a concomitant muezzin and a standby muezzin. The muezzin announces the Adhan, Iqamah, and Tableegh (echoing Takbirah al-Ihram, kneeling and prostrating Takbir, and Tasleem), after the Imam.
