The Forum for Celebrating the Arabic Language for Islamic Nations is an event organized by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSAA) on February 2, 2023, in Jeddah City, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The forum aims to enhance the presence of the Arabic language and promote its use in regional and international events.
Objectives of the Forum for Celebrating the Arabic Language for Islamic Nations
The Forum for Celebrating the Arabic Language for Islamic Nations seeks to connect Arabic with culture, emphasizing its aesthetic context, and aims to preserve and disseminate the language. Spoken by approximately 467 million people, Arabic is one of the most widely used languages on the internet and is among the fastest-growing globally. Arabic is tied to literature, music, the artistry of Arabic calligraphy, fashion, and decorative expressions found on walls, mountains, and even hands.
Activities of the Forum for Celebrating the Arabic Language for Islamic Nations
The forum's activities included a short film about supporting Arabic in international organizations and a session highlighting the OIC and its institutions' efforts to serve the Arabic language. These institutions include the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art, and Culture (IRCICA), and KSAA. The forum also featured the launch of the academy's documentary book, The Arabic Language in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
