Farasan Islands, located in Jazan Province in the southwestern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, host numerous archaeological artifacts and sites dating back 1,400 years BCE. In collaboration with a French university, a Saudi scientific team announced the discovery of several artifacts from the second and third centuries. Among the artifacts discovered in 2022 were:

- Roman shield: One of the rarest pieces, made of copper alloys.

- Head of a small stone statue.

- Roman 'Lorica Squamata' armor: A type of scale armor commonly used during the Roman period from the first to third centuries.

- Seal of a Roman figure named "Ginus" engraved on agate.
