'In the Night' Exhibition

The "In the Night" Exhibition is an art exhibition organized by the Museums Commission under the Saudi Ministry of Culture in 2024. It featured a diverse collection of contemporary artworks, including paintings, art installations, and sculptures, that explored the concept of night from the artists' perspectives in innovative ways.

The "In the Night" Exhibition was held at the temporary hall of the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in the JAX district in Diriyah Governorate. It ran for approximately three months, from February 15 to May 20, 2024, and attracted an audience of art and culture enthusiasts.

The "In the Night" Exhibition aims to enhance awareness of contemporary art while providing a platform for cultural and artistic exchange between local and international artists. It also seeks to contribute to the discovery of inspiring and innovative artworks, showcasing the aesthetics and diverse aspects of the night.

The "In the Night" Exhibition featured artworks by approximately thirty artists from around the world, including Saudi artists, as well as artists from Japan, Tunisia, Morocco, India, Argentina, Croatia, Pakistan, Australia, France, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

The exhibition, curated by Geraldine Bloch, featured four sections: "Cosmic Nights," showcasing artworks that represented the cosmic harmony between the wonders of the sky and abstract realms; "Abundant Night," inviting visitors to explore the realms of the night and the interplay of cosmic particles; "Dreams," presenting artworks resembling dreamlike spaces that challenge reality; and "Specters of the Night," where artists sought to capture the mysterious worlds of the night.

Alongside the exhibition, the Museums Commission organized accompanying events to engage the audience, including seminars, poetry evenings, and art workshops.
