Mohammed Elkuwaiz

Mohammed Abdullah Elkuwaiz is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a Saudi financial expert specializing in devising and managing investment policies. He has experience in the fields of financial services, devising strategies, and elaborating business plans. He worked as an advisor to global strategic consultancy firms.

Mohammed Elkuwaiz completed his bachelor's studies at King Saud University in Riyadh in 1998. He then relocated to the United States of America to pursue his master's of business administration at the Stern School of Business of New York University. He obtained his master's degree in 2003.

Mohammed Elkuwaiz worked as an advisor for McKinsey global company. He was an associate chief executive officer at Derayah Financial Company and worked for Samba Financial Group SJSC. During his career, Elkuwaiz assumed several tasks at emerging and major companies. His tasks included organizational structure establishment, investment policies and systems management, performance enhancement, and business development.

Mohammed Elkuwaiz worked at the Treasury Department of the Arab National Bank before becoming a board member. He was a member of the Investment Committee of King Faisal Foundation. He also was a member of the Investment and Securities Committee of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In 2017, Mohammed Elkuwaiz was appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority where he contributed to developing the main stock market infrastructure and attracting foreign investments.
