Yes, female conscription exists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It falls within the Kingdom's women empowerment efforts. The Kingdom enabled women's participation in several security tasks executed by the General Security, the Two Holy Mosques Security Special Forces, the General Department of Criminal Evidence, and the Police. It also initiated female military recruitment. In this respect, the Ministry of Defense expanded the female military scope upon launching unified application and recruitment processes for military jobs of different ranks (soldier, private first class, corporal, agent, sergeant) in the various branches of the Saudi naval, air, and land forces, and the Armed Forces Medical Services. It also offered service women training at the Women's Training Institute of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces.
The Women's Training Institute of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces offers training programs and courses aimed at offering an optimal education environment for women in line with global standards. These programs meet the requirements of the armed forces and support the objectives of the Ministry of Defense. The Institute held several training sessions, such as the service women training course, the non-commissioned officer foundational course, the non-commissioned officer advanced course, and the military police qualification course.
