Qassim Province is one of the administrative regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The seat of its emirate is Buraydah City. Notable pre-Islamic poets who lived therein include Antara Ibn Shaddad, Zuhair Bin Abi Salma and his son, Kaab Bin Zuhair.

Qassim is located at the center of the Kingdom, in Najd Plateau encompassing Riyadh, Qassim, and Hail Provinces. It was named Qassim due to its sandy soil and twisted trees formed by fertile soil and abundant water.

Arabian tribes that lived in Qassim during the pre-Islamic era include the Kinda, Abs, Zubian, Asad, Ghatfan, Bahla, Tamim, Kilab, Ghani, Fazarah, al-Dabab, and Bani Amer Bin Sa'sa tribes. Al-Isfahani wrote: The city's citizens and Bani Sulaim live at the top of ar-Rummah valley, while Bani Kilab and Ghatfan live in its center, and Bani Asad and Abs live at its bottom before soil changes into sand... And so begins al-Uyun sandy area.
