Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud was the founder of the Second Saudi State in 1824, approximately six years after the end of the First Saudi State. Despite the destruction and devastation left behind by the foreign presence at the time, he was able to rally the supporters of the Saudi State and form an army with which he was able to recapture ad-Diriyah and expel the remaining foreign forces.
Imam Turki Bin Abdullah shifted the governance center from ad-Diriyah to Riyadh, making it the capital of the state. The Second Saudi State followed the same foundations and pillars as the First Saudi State in terms of unifying regions, spreading security and stability, and implementing Islamic Shariah Law and financial systems, alongside the flourishing of sciences and literature throughout the state.
