The Saudi Association for Health Informatics is a professional scientific society in the field of healthcare informatics that contributes to the transformation towards electronic health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It does so by promoting the concept of health informatics, scientific research, and professional performance. It was established in 2005 under the umbrella of King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, which is affiliated with the Ministry of National Guard. Its headquarters is located in the capital city, Riyadh.
Objectives of Saudi Association for Health Informatics
The association aims to achieve several objectives, including providing scientific consultation in the field of health informatics and facilitating the exchange of ideas and scientific production among relevant entities, both within and outside the Kingdom, regarding the association's areas of interest. It also strives to develop and promote scientific thought in the field of health informatics, enhance the professional and scientific performance of the society's members, establish general guidelines for professional ethics, and enable healthcare professionals to benefit from electronic education applications in the scientific field as well as health informatics applications in therapeutic and research aspects.
Activities of the Saudi Association for Health Informatics
The activities of the association include various tasks, such as authoring scientific books and translating them in the field of the association's interest and related areas. Additionally, the society organizes seminars, courses, and conferences related to its fields of interest, and it actively participates in local and international conferences. The society has also contributed to the establishment of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Arabic Encyclopedia for Health Content, which was officially launched during the fourth Saudi Electronic Health Conference in Riyadh in 2012. Furthermore, the association supports scientific research and consultations in the field of health informatics, conducts scientific studies to enhance practical aspects, publishes scientific newsletters, studies, and journals related to its field, and has received the Excellence Award as the best scientific association in the Middle East for its local and international participation. The association also invites scholars and thinkers to participate in its activities in accordance with the organized procedures.

The association hosts several programs, including initiatives to encourage scientific research and publication support. It also organizes specialized scientific seminars and lectures and actively participates in the scientific advancement within the field of electronic health.
