The Saudi Society of Marine Sciences is a Saudi scientific society affiliated with King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was established in 2003 and aims to promote awareness and knowledge among individuals and institutions.
The regulatory regulations of the Saudi Society of Marine Sciences stipulate its affiliation with the President of King Abdulaziz University or his delegate. In the event that the society ceases its activities, its assets will be transferred to King Abdulaziz University. When the society relocates from King Abdulaziz University to another location, all of its assets will be transferred to the new headquarters.

The society aims to promote scientific communication among its members, develop and enhance their scientific and professional performance, advance scientific thinking in the field of marine sciences, provide scientific advice to relevant authorities in the scientific specialization, and exchange scientific ideas and research output among institutions and organizations both within and outside the Kingdom in the field of marine sciences.
Activities of the Saudi Society of Marine Sciences
The society engages in various activities, including providing consultations, conducting scientific studies and research to develop and enhance practical practices in the field of marine sciences, organizing seminars, workshops, and courses related to marine sciences, writing and translating scientific books and publishing them in the Arabic language, issuing scientific studies, bulletins, and journals in the field of marine sciences, participating in local, regional, and international exhibitions, coordinating field trips, organizing scientific competitions, and exchanging expertise and information with other organizations and associations.
Funding of the Saudi Society for Marine Sciences
The society finances its activities through the annual memberships of its members, grants, and donations provided by universities, public or private institutions, and individuals, as well as revenues generated from the courses and training programs it conducts, and the sale of periodic bulletins and publications.
