The Saudi Society for Geosciences is a specialized scientific society supervised by King Saud University in Riyadh. Approval for its establishment was granted on June 14, 1981. Its main headquarters is located in the College of Sciences at the university.

The society aims to expand in the field of geosciences, work on developing professional and scientific performance, offer consultation within the field, and provide a space for productive scientific communication and exchange of ideas among its members. It also strives for scientific communication between the society and the institutions and organizations inside and outside the Kingdom.

The society works to achieve its goals through a number of activities, including: encouraging the conduct of scientific research and consultations, translating scientific books related to earth sciences and other related fields, conducting studies and research to develop applied aspects, holding seminars, conferences, and courses, issuing scientific periodicals, participating in exhibitions, motivating thinkers and scientists to interact with the society's activities, organizing trips, and holding competitions for the society's members.
Memberships of the Saudi Society for Geosciences
The society provides three membership categories: Honorary Membership, available upon the general assembly's approval for those who have offered significant financial or moral contributions; Active (Valid) Membership, reserved for those with university degrees in earth sciences or a related field, priced at SAR200 annually; and Affiliate Membership for those without a university degree or students in related disciplines, available for an annual fee of SAR100.

The General Assembly of the Saudi Society for Geosciences consists of active members within the society. It holds an annual meeting and is responsible for several tasks, including issuing regulatory bylaws for the society's operations, approving the annual budget, endorsing annual reports on the society's activities, approving its annual plans, electing members for the board of directors, and discussing all items on its agenda.
Administration of the Saudi Society for Geosciences
The society is managed by a group of members, not exceeding nine, who are selected by the General Assembly through secret balloting among the members. The term of membership lasts for three years and can be renewed once. The Board of Directors assumes several responsibilities, including formulating the society's policy, presenting it to the General Assembly for approval, and issuing the necessary instructions and rules to implement the society's bylaws.
