Al-Khidr Mosque is a historic mosque located in al-Balad Neighborhood, specifically on al-Dhahab Street in the center of Jeddah City, in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
History of al-Khidr Mosque
Al-Khidr Historical Mosque is considered one of the oldest historical mosques in the old town of Jeddah City. Narratives suggest that its construction dates back to more than seven hundred years ago.
There are several narratives regarding the naming of the mosque. It is said that the place where al-Khidr, the righteous servant mentioned in the Holy Quran, set foot. However, other narratives suggest that a man who lived in the region built the mosque several centuries ago, and it was named after him.

Al-Khidr Mosque is one of the targeted mosques in the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques in its second phase. After renovation, its area reaches 355.09 m, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 355 worshipers.
