Umm Zureniq Mosque is one of the targeted mosques in Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques in its second phase. It is located in the center of al-Hufuf City in al-Ahsa Governorate, in the Eastern Province.
History of Umm Zureniq Mosque
The Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques aims to bestow Umm Zureniq Mosque with a historical and aesthetic identity, preserving its unique details that maintain its aesthetic history and transition it into the future. This is achieved through several stages of systematic works, based on numerous studies, researches, and analyses directed towards restoring the mosque to its original state using appropriate materials. The mosque, located in al-Omairiyah Neighborhood next to Umm Zureniq Cemetery, dates back to more than one hundred years.
Umm Zureniq Mosque Area
The area of the mosque before the restoration was thirty m², and it increased to 213.69 m² afterward. Its capacity has expanded to accommodate up to ninety-four worshipers after prayers had been suspended there for the previous period.
