The timeline of the development stages of King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex
1982
The foundation stone for King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex was laid to be a specialized institution for printing the Holy Quran and translating it into various languages and the entity responsible for various sciences related to the Quran, through the employment of more than one thousand specialized employees, including technicians, scholars, professors, and administrators.
1984
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, inaugurated King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, covering an area of 250,000 m . Its buildings are divided into administrative units, a printing house, warehouses, maintenance, a transport unit, marketing, a library, a medical clinic, and a department for support services. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance supervised it.
1995-2007
In 1995, King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex received the Madinah Award in the field of urban design as its first award. The second award was the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation, in 2007.
2019
Massive warehouses were added to King Fahd Complex within its premises that can accommodate millions of copies issued by the center. An integrated monitoring system with audio and video was introduced in addition to a fire detection device. The entire infrastructure of the complex was completely replaced, and water purification stations were established. The complex underwent several renovations in its areas, including providing insurance for damaged editions of the complex's publications. The printing machines were developed, and some were replaced with more modern devices to enhance the efficiency of the complex. There were also comprehensive improvements made to the workshops and the transportation department.
2021
In line with King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex's commitment to technological advancement, the complex created digital versions of the Quran containing various recitations and developed a digital platform for the Holy Quran and its sciences.
