HAZEM System is the first Saudi naval military system for naval combat management (CMS). It integratively combines a comprehensive communications system, a fire control system, an integrated platform management system, a combat management system, and a training system. It was launched at the Saudi International Maritime Forum in Riyadh City, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on November 24, 2019.

The system was created as a part of the joint 'SAMI Navantia' program between the Saudi Arabian Military Industries Company (SAMI) and the Spanish company Navantia S.A., within the 'Avante 2200' project. It was designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the naval forces of its allies. The system was developed through technology transfer from the Spanish company Navantia, and based on the company's 'CATIZ' combat system.

Localization of military industries in HAZEM System

The HAZEM System, integrated into the 'Avante 2200' corvette ships, helps meet the needs of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in naval combat systems. The Saudi-Spanish company SAMI 'Navantia' contributes to localizing around 50 percent of military industries in naval systems by 2030.

Navantia Naval Industries Project

'SAMI Navantia' company operates as a joint venture between the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and the Spanish company Navantia S.A., aiming to become a leading regional company in developing integrated combat systems. 'SAMI Navantia' has provided sensors, actuators, integrated systems, and software management, in addition to integrated logistics support (ILS) and training, to manufacture related products within the Kingdom.

Sarawat Project at 'SAMI Navantia'

SAMI 'Navantina' company launched the Sarawat Project in San Fernando City in the Kingdom of Spain. This project is fully equipped with the Saudi CMS, HAZEM, which was developed and integrated into the project's ships by Saudi engineering experts to serve the Saudi armed forces. The project involved the construction of five corvettes of the Avante 2200 type for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, which are His Majesty the King's 'al-Jubayl' Ship, His Majesty the King's 'Jazan' Ship, His Majesty the King's 'Hail' Ship, His Majesty the King's 'ad-Dir'iyyah' Ship, and the final ship in the Sarwat Project, His Majesty the King's 'Unayzah' Ship.

The operational system in the Sarawat Project ships includes handling various types of electronic warfare, surface and subsurface threats, as well as all kinds of aerial threats.
