It is the parallel market to the Saudi Exchange or Saudi Tadawul, commonly referred to as Nomu. It was launched by the main market, the Saudi Exchange, under the supervision and regulation of the Capital Market Authority as an additional source for companies to raise funds and increase capital. It also aims to diversify available investment tools and further develop the Saudi capital market. The trading of securities on 'Nomu' market began in 2017.
'Nomu' market is characterized by lower listing requirements and serves as an alternative platform for companies wishing to list. Investment in this market is restricted to qualified investors only.
The Saudi Parallel Market 'Nomu' was established in line with the objectives of the Financial Sector Development Program, one of Saudi Vision 2030 programs, which aims to develop the capital market, encourage savings, and promote financing and investment. It is the first Gulf capital market that allows companies wishing to transition to the main market to do so through a direct listing, exempting them from an initial public offering (IPO) to investors and individuals.
