Al-Rajajil Monuments were named so because, from a distance, they appear to onlookers as if they are standing men (or Rajajil, in Arabic). However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that they are a group of erect stone pillars. Al-Rajajil Monuments, also known as al-Rajajil Columns, are located south of the city of Sakaka in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They date back to the fourth millennium BC. Experts believe that they were placed in this location either for religious purposes, time-keeping, or as remains of facilities.
The columns are distributed in groups, each comprising four columns. Each column has a height of about three m. On the western side of each group, there is a structure in the shape of a semi-circle, except for one group.
The site is one of the most famous archaeological monuments in the Kingdom. It contains stone tools including scrapers, awls, blades, and a collection of pottery fragments.
