The dates production season starts in different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from June to November of each year. Saudi Arabia has more than thirty-three million palm trees, with over 123 thousand agricultural holdings distributed across thirteen administrative regions. The Kingdom is renowned for producing some of the finest varieties of dates, including Barhi, Khudri, Khalas, Reziz, Sukkari, Shishi, Safawi, Safari, Sagai, Ajwa, Ambera, Halawi, Barni, Rothana, Maktoomi, Nabtat Ali, Shaqra, and Nabtat Saif. The Kingdom produces and exports more than three hundred types of dates, with an annual production exceeding 1.54 million t. In 2022, the Kingdom's exports of dates and their derivatives reached 321 thousand t, valued at SAR1.28 billion.
