Sara al-Sudairi Program for Documenting the History of Saudi Women

Sara al-Sudairi Program for Documenting the History of Saudi Women is one of the scientific programs of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). It focuses on the history of Saudi women and is named after Princess Sara Bint Ahmed al-Sudairi, the mother of the Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.

The program aims to raise cultural awareness and support talented and creative Saudi women by organizing programs and activities that develop cultural and extracurricular aspects for women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, it seeks to establish a reference database for documenting information about Saudi women, monitor developments, laws, and decisions related to women, and track institutions concerned with women's affairs. The program also records sources of writings, publications, and biographies about Saudi women.

The program aims to develop policies that contribute to raising awareness among community members about the importance of documenting the history of Saudi women. It also focuses on documenting information and statistics related to the biographies of notable Saudi women, highlighting the history of Saudi women since the founding of the Kingdom, and recording their achievements and contributions across various historical periods.

The program also works to enhance social responsibility among community groups in documenting the history of Saudi women, innovate new methods for communication and collaboration with various state sectors and institutions, and build scientific partnerships with academic, research, and information institutions. It also adopts research projects that serve Saudi women and their issues and prepares scientific studies related to the affairs of Saudi women.

The program is responsible for documenting the history of women in the Kingdom across various fields, including information and statistics related to Saudi women in both the past and present, biographies and publications of Saudi academics, and historical information and narratives.

Sara al-Sudairi Program for Documenting the History of Saudi Women has collected a range of materials related to women's issues in the Kingdom from its inception until 2020. These include 2,120 biographies, 775 research papers, 305 books, and thirty-four periodicals.
