Imam Faisal Bin Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud (1788 - 1865) was the second Imam of the Second Saudi State, and the first Saudi ruler to assume power twice. He is the son of the founder of the Second Saudi State.

The rule of Imam Faisal Bin Turki

Imam Faisal Bin Turki began his reign in 1834 by restoring the rule of his father, Imam Turki Bin Abdullah. He solidified the influence of the Second Saudi State in most parts of the Arabian Peninsula. His rule lasted for thirty-three years, after which his son, Imam Abdullah Bin Faisal, succeeded him.

Imam Faisal Bin Turki worked towards the unity of the Saudi State

He worked on maintaining the unity of the Saudi State, which prompted the Ottomans to once again deploy the forces of Mohammed Ali Pasha in an attempt to eliminate the Second Saudi State. Mohammed Ali Pasha's forces headed towards Najd and arrived there under the command of Khurshid Pasha. Imam Faisal Bin Turki sensed a conspiracy, so he preemptively left for al-Madinah al-Munawwarah to preserve the safety of his state's people and to spare their blood. However, he was captured, sent to Egypt, and imprisoned there. Despite this, he managed to escape and return to Najd after the withdrawal of Mohammed Ali's forces.

The borders of the Saudi State expanded during the reign of Imam Faisal Bin Turki

Imam Faisal Bin Turki managed to escape from Egypt in 1843. He headed towards Hail and from there, he moved to Qassim Province, which later came under his control. Imam Faisal continued his march towards Riyadh, achieving consecutive victories until he reached it and took over the governance.

During this period, the state's institutions were rebuilt economically, politically, and socially. Its borders expanded in several directions. Imam Faisal continued to rule the state until his death on December 9, 1865.
