His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born in September 1942) is one of the sons of the Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He served as Deputy Minister of the Interior during the reigns of King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during whose reign he was appointed Minister of the Interior. He has received numerous certificates of appreciation and medals, the most notable being the King Abdulaziz Medal.

Biography

Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz began his primary education at the Princes' School during the lifetime of his father, King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, in Riyadh City. He then attended al-Anjal Institute, established by King Saud Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh, where he completed his primary, middle, and high school education. He led the scouting team at the institute until his graduation in 1961.

Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in the United States in 1961, where he studied English and some scientific subjects. He then transferred to the University of Redlands in the San Bernardino area of Southern California, from which he earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1968. On July 26, 1999, the University of Redlands awarded him an honorary doctorate in humanities.

After graduating from university, Prince Ahmed engaged in private business and chaired the board of directors of the National Gypsum Company from 1969 to 1970.

Positions held by Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz

A Royal Order was issued by King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1971 appointing Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz as the Deputy Governor of the Emirate of Makkah al-Mukarramah Province.

In December 1975, a Royal Order was issued by King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud appointing Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz as Deputy Minister of Interior. He was also appointed Deputy Chairman of the High Commission For Industrial Security and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for National Security (formerly). Additionally, he participated as a member of several ministerial-level committees.
On June 18, 2012, a Royal Order was issued by King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud appointing him as Minister of the Interior. He remained in this position until he was relieved of his duties on November 5, 2012.
