The eLearning Innovation Award is one of the initiatives of the National eLearning Center (NeLC), affiliated with the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was launched on August 4, 2022. The award aspires to raise the reliability of e-learning and to celebrate national achievements and innovative projects in the Kingdom.

Objectives

The award aims to enhance the reliability of e-learning, appreciate national achievements, and celebrate innovative projects in this field. Additionally, it aims to contribute to the development and enhancement of human capabilities by encouraging and prompting workers to provide the best solutions in the field of e-learning. Furthermore, it seeks to improve the quality of programs in e-learning, highlight existing innovators, and recognize efforts to activate e-learning.

Significance

The award serves as a driving force for excellence and innovation in human capacity development by enhancing e-learning, supporting the Kingdom's global leadership in innovation, and maximizing its active role in research and development to achieve a prestigious global position. It builds upon previous achievements in innovation through e-learning in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Features

The eLearning Innovation Award is a cornerstone of empowerment for the e-learning sector in the Kingdom. It contributes to human resource development by accelerating the pace of innovation and nurturing outstanding leaders in educational and training innovation. It fosters integration within the educational system, encourages development and innovation, and enhances the impact and reliability of e-learning in the Kingdom.

Tracks

The eLearning Award is divided into three tracks: the Excellence Track, which is granted to institutions that adhere to the highest criteria for excellence in programs licensed by the center; the Innovation Track, which recognizes institutions that innovate in technologies and practices in e-learning; and the Impact Track, designated for entities demonstrating the highest effectiveness and efficiency in human capacity development. These tracks are strategically important for enhancing confidence in e-learning, enabling lifelong equal access to it, and fostering sustainable innovation, according to the global best practices in the sector and achieving concepts of justice, empowerment, and development within the system. Applications for the first edition of the award were announced on May 21, 2023.
