In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, there is an annual waste of approximately 22,000 t of sheep meat, 13,000 t of camel meat, 444,000 t of poultry, 69,000 t of fish, and about 41,000 t of other types of meat.
To raise public awareness about the concepts of food loss and waste, consumption rationing, and the utilization of food surplus. The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture along with the Saudi Grains Organization, launched a campaign titled #Save_it_to_last. This campaign aimed to educate the public about the extent of food loss and waste in the Kingdom, as highlighted by a field study conducted by the Saudi Grains Organization as part of the National Transformation Program. According to the study, which targeted nineteen food items divided into eight groups, an individual in the Kingdom wastes about 184 kg annually.
