The Global Trends in E-Learning (GTEL) Forum is an annual event that supports educational institutions in aligning with global trends in e-learning in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The first edition took place from February 21 to 23, 2022, and the second edition from January 23 to 25, 2023. Held over three days in the capital, Riyadh, the forum includes panel discussions, workshops, and an accompanying exhibition.
Objectives of the Global Trends in E-Learning Forum
The Global Trends in E-Learning Forum aims to create high-quality education to meet the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by establishing a scientific platform that provides advanced, sustainable, and high-quality education. It promotes development and discovery in e-learning through knowledge exchange and enhances and accelerates the digital transformation of education by improving the skills and knowledge of education professionals.
It showcases modern learning methodologies for the application of e-learning through review and evaluation, and supports innovation by Saudi entrepreneurs. In addition, it encourages scientific research on e-learning theories, methodologies, and tools, and fosters communication among researchers and practitioners from academic circles to present their work and discuss challenges and opportunities in the field of learning.
Global Trends in E-Learning Forum 2023
The second edition of the Global Trends in E-Learning Forum was attended by around two hundred participants from thirty-five countries. The event featured seven panel discussions, eight lectures, and six workshops. Additionally, three initiatives were launched during the forum: the Digital Transformation Strategy, the Virtual Branch, and the Lifelong Learning Platform. Furthermore, the forum witnessed an exhibition where twenty-seven local and international exhibitors showcased products and future learning technologies.
