The Riyadh Water Tower was constructed to increase the water pressure in the public water network to meet the water needs of Riyadh's citizens, as well as ensure it reaches all neighborhoods. The Riyadh Water Tower is one of the ancient landmarks in Riyadh City. It is located in al-Murabba Neighborhood, near King Abdulaziz Historical Center.
The Riyadh Water Tower was constructed in 1971 at the order of King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Its construction was supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water (currently the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture). Al-Watan Park was established around the tower, along with some recreational games. Additionally, lakes and buildings surrounded the tower, providing services for visitors to al-Watan Park.
