The Cybersecurity for Children Association (CyberKids) is a non-profit civil society association in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dedicated to protecting children from issues they encounter while connected to the internet. It is licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development under number 1557. The association's tasks include providing advice and guidance to protect children in cyberspace, under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Objectives

The Cybersecurity for Children Association aims to build a safe community for children, develop their protection and safety skills, raise awareness of children and their parents about cyber risks and threats and cyberbullying, train children on safe internet use, and provide guidance and advice on cybersecurity for children.

The association works towards achieving its operational goals, which include conducting awareness sessions for children and their parents, developing administrative procedures, enhancing the role of CyberKids ambassadors, enriching digital content, creating a media plan for the association, preparing marketing campaigns, in addition to developing training content and protection and safety skills for children in this field.

Initiatives

The association has launched several initiatives, including the awareness initiative across social media, which are classified as being used more by the target age group. This initiative shares awareness content on everything related to safety, security, potential risks, and prevention methods. It also educates families on how to support children who have experienced cyberbullying or extortion and informs them about the authorities that handle such reports.

The association also conducts specialized courses as part of the Training Courses Initiative targeting parents of both genders. These courses aim to inform them about the main risks children may face while using the internet or online gaming platforms, methods of prevention, the importance of engaging with their children's digital world, and combating digital ignorance among parents.
