The King Salman Global Academy Prize for Arabic Language is one of the initiatives of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSAA). It was launched by the academy on March 20, 2022, and includes individuals as well as public and private institutions. It comprises four branches: Teaching, computerizing the Arabic language, scientific research, and spreading linguistic awareness.

Objectives

The aim of the King Salman Global Academy Prize for Arabic Language is to honor individuals and institutions that excel in serving the Arabic language and appreciate their efforts, highlight their role in preserving linguistic identity, promote Arab culture, and enhance loyalty and effective communication within the Arab community.

The prize also aims to intensify competition within its four categories, increase interest and attention towards them, and appreciate the related fields in order to ensure the future of the Arabic language and reaffirm its prominence among languages.

Categories

The King Salman Global Academy Prize for Arabic Language includes specialized individuals and enthusiasts of the Arabic language who have tangible intellectual contributions serving the Arabic language and its speakers at local and international levels. This includes: researchers, authors, and writers. Additionally, it encompasses public and private institutions that have provided services and prioritized their work to serve the Arabic language through tangible products, and documented projects and works. Examples of such institutions include higher education institutions with their various components, specialized research organizations and centers, and governmental and private authorities.

The value of the prizes designated for individuals and institutions exceeds SAR1.6 million, in addition to commemorative plaques and certificates of appreciation.

Nomination for the King Salman Global Academy Prize for Arabic Language

Individuals or institutions wishing to be nominated for the prize must meet certain conditions. First, candidates must be nominated by an institution, and self-nominations are not accepted. Each institution has the right to nominate itself or another institution, and it can also nominate its own members or individuals or whoever is deemed outstanding other than its members. Nominations from institutions, companies, organizations, and universities from the public and private sectors are accepted.

Additionally, nominations must be submitted solely through the designated website, and candidate information and achievements must be filled out under the supervision and approval of the nominating institutions. A "certified and stamped letter from the nominating institution" should be attached. Entities are allowed to nominate individuals deemed worthy in more than one category, provided that they nominate no more than three individuals and three institutions. Nominations in multiple categories are permitted, with each nomination presented in a separate application.

The prize management covers the travel and accommodation expenses for the winners to attend the honor ceremony. However, it is not obligated to provide any certificates confirming participation in the award. Moreover, an institution or individual cannot win in more than one category in the same award edition, regardless of the evaluation outcome.
