The Fashion Award is an annual national cultural award dedicated to male and female fashion designers who have contributed to the promotion of Saudi culture locally or globally. The award was launched as part of the National Cultural Awards initiative sponsored by the Saudi Ministry of Culture. It was announced by the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan, in 2019, and its inaugural edition was held in June 2020.

Objectives of the Fashion Award

The Fashion Award aims to enrich and improve lifestyles, support local culture, and promote a sustainable environment for local industry.

Participation in the Fashion Award

The nomination for the Fashion Award can be submitted directly by participants via the online platform, whether individuals or groups, by other parties, if they believe that a candidate deserves to win or to be nominated, or by specialized committees at the Ministry of Culture.

Conditions for the Fashion Award

To be eligible for nomination, the male or female designer must hold a Saudi nationality or be a son/daughter of a Saudi woman. The nominated trademark must be Saudi-owned, and the candidate must be no less than twenty-one years of age. Moreover, the information submitted must be correct and complete. The candidate must have total ownership of all the public and intellectual rights for the submitted content, or at least partial ownership that enables the candidate to apply with written approval from the other partners, with the necessary documents that prove the partners' consent.

Winners of the Fashion Award

In the inaugural edition, the winners of the first three places are:

First place: Tafassel Int. (Lomar) Second place: Yusuf Muhammad Akbar. Third place: Arwa Abdullah Al-Omari. Samira al-Otaibi won the Fashion Award in its second edition.
