The Translation Award is an annual national cultural award in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is granted to translators and owners of technical innovations in the field of translation, as well as influential translation agencies. The award was launched as part of the National Cultural Awards initiative announced by the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan Al Saud in 2019. The inaugural edition of the award was launched in April 2021.
The Translation Award aims to incentivize the market and encourage translation enthusiasts to participate in the competition. The award also recognizes contributors to the dissemination of cultural knowledge. It strives to make the award the most esteemed Arab and international prize in the field of translation in terms of moral value.
Nomination for the Translation Award
The award targets individual translators, owners of technical innovations, and translation agencies that have an exceptional impact on the translation field. Nominations can be submitted directly by participants via the online platform, or they can be placed by another party if they believe that a candidate deserves to win or to be nominated, or by specialized committees at the Ministry of Culture.
Conditions for the Translation Award
To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must hold a Saudi nationality or be a son/daughter of a Saudi woman. The establishment must also be Saudi-owned and headquartered in the Kingdom. Submitted information for the nomination must be correct and complete, and the candidate must have total ownership of all the public and intellectual rights for the submitted content, or partial ownership that enables the candidate to apply with the approval of the other parties and must submit the necessary documents to prove their partners' consent to the nomination. Finally, the submitted work must have been published during the five years preceding the submission of the nomination.

In the inaugural edition, the winners of the first three places are:
First place: Abdullah Mohammed Idris.
Second place: Sultan bin Nasser al-mujaiwel.
Third place: Bandar Mohammed al-Harbi.
On September 2022, Sherif Bugnah received the Translation Award during its second edition.
