Saudi Universities Sports Federation

The Saudi University Sports Federation is the organizing authority for sports activities for university students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in 2010, it is overseen by the Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to develop university sports, represent Saudi Arabia at regional and global levels, and encourage male and female university students to engage in sports within a local sporting community. Here, various universities compete in roughly ten different sports. Additionally, the Federation supports and promotes sports activities among university students, reinforcing sportsmanship among them under specific rules and policies.

The Saudi University Sports Federation organizes sporting events for university students in collaboration with national sports federations. It also oversees sports activities among institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Additionally, it empowers women by activating women's championships in Saudi universities and representing Saudi universities at local, regional, and international levels in sports participation.

The Federation also supports scientific research and studies contributing to athletic and academic excellence. Additionally, it adopts ethical standards for developing sports programs that align with contemporary sports educational issues. It aims to transform university sports from a student activity to a structured program that prepares students for professional life.

The sports season starts at the beginning of the academic year and concludes at its end. Championships are organized among male and female student clubs from various universities and local colleges. These tournaments aim to prepare and refine national talents in several sports, including chess, football, volleyball, goalball, karate, taekwondo, basketball, track and field events, beach volleyball, and the FIFA championship.

Awards are divided between team sports and individual sports. In team sports, the first-place winner receives the gold cup, a gold medal, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board of directors. The second-place winner is awarded the silver cup, a silver medal, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board. The third-place winner receives the bronze cup, a bronze medal, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board of directors.

In individual sports, the first-place winner receives a gold medal, a first-place trophy, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board of directors. The second-place winner is awarded a silver medal, a second-place trophy, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board. The third-place winner receives a bronze medal, a third-place trophy, and a monetary reward determined by the Sports Federation's board of directors.
