Museum of Embalmed Marine Creatures at King Abdulaziz University

The Museum of Embalmed Marine Creatures at King Abdulaziz University is a maritime museum affiliated with the Faculty of Marine Sciences branch in Sharm Abhor at King Abdulaziz University. The museum houses a large number of stuffed specimens of creatures from the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. They are used as reference samples for classification for the purposes of scientific research and the education and training of students. This museum, the only one of its kind in the Kingdom, is frequented by visitors from inside and outside Jeddah City, as well as school students and others.

The main building of the Faculty of Marine Sciences is located on the university campus in Jeddah City, in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There is also a branch of the faculty in Sharm Abhor, equipped with units and supporting facilities for the sections, namely: the faculty library, the Museum of Embalmed Marine Creatures, a fish farm for the purposes of study, research, and training students to cultivate marine organisms, as well as sea boats equipped to collect samples for the purposes of study, research and field training for students.

The Museum of Embalmed Marine Creatures is a part of King Abdulaziz University's museums, with a vision to create a cultural, educational, and historical museum incorporating the latest technological display methods to showcase the heritage of the Kingdom and the history of King Abdulaziz University. It embodies past achievements, connects generations to their heritage, and draws inspiration from the Kingdom's cultural and pioneering reality.
