Why Did the Crown Prince Camel Festival Enter the Guinness Book of Records?
The Crown Prince Camel Festival entered the Guinness World Records for achieving several records since its launch in 2018.
The festival set a Guinness World Record in its first edition on September 21, 2018, as the largest camel racing festival in the world, with a total of 11,178 competing camels.
The second edition of the festival in 2019 witnessed breaking the previous record as the largest camel racing festival in the world, with approximately 13,377 participating camels recorded that year. It also presented the world's largest camel sculpture after entering the Guinness World Records in 2019.
In its third edition in 2021, it broke the records set in the previous two editions, with the number of participants reaching approximately 14,843 camels, including 7,870 in the preliminary stage and 6,973 in the final stage.
In 2022, the fourth edition of the festival witnessed a significant increase in participation, with 17,669 camels, breaking the previous record for the preceding year.
