King Salman Project to Expand Quba Mosque: This expansion is the largest in Quba Mosque's history. The mosque is in the southern part of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, crown prince, prime minister, and chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, announced the launch of the project on April 8, 2022, which entails developing the area around the mosque, increasing its area by ten times.

The King Salman Project to Expand Quba Mosque's importance is rooted in the mosque being the first built in Islamic history and lies in its religious and historic status dating back to the time of the Prophet, passing through the Rashidun, Umayyad, and Abbasid eras, ultimately reaching the Saudi era.

The Quba Mosque is on Hijra Road, which connects Makkah al-Mukarramah to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. The Prophet's Mosque is about 3.5 km south. It was built by Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) upon his migration from Makkah al-Mukarramah to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah.
