Fatina Amin Shaker (born in 1940) is a Saudi academic, writer, and media figure. She was appointed as a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, worked in the media sector as an editor-in-chief and broadcaster, wrote for several local newspapers, and participated in volunteer organizations and various committees.

She was born in the city of Jeddah in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province and received her education there. She then pursued her secondary education in Cairo and graduated in 1957. Subsequently, she enrolled at Cairo University, majoring in Business Administration at the Faculty of Commerce, and graduated in 1962. She pursued a master's degree in 1964 at the University of Texas in the United States, which she obtained in 1966. Her master's thesis was titled "The Status of Women in Islam and Their Changing Role in the Kingdom."
Fatina Shaker obtained her doctorate in 1971 from Purdue University in the state of Indiana, United States. Her dissertation was entitled "Modernization in Developing Countries: A Case Study of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia".
Fatina Amin Shaker's professional experiences
She worked as a university professor at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah from 1977 until 1997. Following that, she served as a vice dean for registrar and later as a vice dean for postgraduate studies. She contributed articles to newspapers including Asharq al-Awsat, Okaz, al-Riyadh, al-Madina, and al-Nadwa, as well as the Media magazine. Additionally, she held the position of editor-in-chief of Sayidati magazine in London from 1981 for two years.
Fatina Amin Shaker also worked in radio and hosted the program 'The Happy Home.' She served as a member of the board of directors of al-Faisalya Women Welfare Society in 1979 and founded and chaired the Studies and Research Committee in 1982. She was appointed as an assistant professor at an American college for a year and a half and also taught graduate students for a summer semester at an American university.
