List of Phases of the Red Sea Project

The Red Sea Project is being implemented in two main phases:

Phase one: It began in 2017 and was completed by the end of 2023. During this phase, more than eight hundred contracts were signed with a total value exceeding SAR20 billion. This phase includes the construction of the Red Sea International Airport, which is projected to serve around one million tourists annually by 2030. The airport will operate domestic and international flights, accommodate nine hundred passengers per hour during peak times, and feature five small terminal buildings.

Phase two: It began in 2023 and is scheduled to be completed by 2030. This phase includes the opening of fifty resorts, approximately eight thousand hotel rooms, over one thousand residential properties across twenty-two islands and six inland sites, as well as golf courses, luxury marinas, and entertainment and leisure facilities. More than 15,000 workers are employed on the project.
