Fifa Mountains

Jabal Fifa is one of the mountains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in the Fifa Governorate in the Jazan region. It is approximately one hundred km away from the administrative capital of the region, Jazan City. The mountain is part of the Sarawat Mountains and rises to an elevation of 1,814 m above sea level.

Jabal Fifa is a rugged and mountainous region with many villages. It is intersected by three main roads with a total length of approximately thirty-two km, connecting the residential areas at the top of the mountain to Jazan City and other regions of the Kingdom. These roads pass through various rocky terrains and mountain slopes.

Jabal Fifa is surrounded by Wadi Damad from the east to the west and Wadi Jura from the north to the west. Its borders form an arc, and the two valleys meet in an area known as al-Mahhah, west of the mountain. Several valleys descend From Jabal Fifa carrying flowing water from al-Ghayl throughout the year. Near the mountain, you can find the hot spring called al-Wughrah.

Jabal Fifa is characterized by a moderate climate throughout the year and a high density of trees covering much of its surface, due to continuous rainfall in all seasons. The mountain is composed of a series of peaks with varying heights, with the most famous being the summit of al-Absiyah, the highest peak offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from all directions.

The mountain falls under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The ministry works on mountainous environmental preservation through various tasks, including conserving the ecological systems and biodiversity of the mountains, implementing a range of programs and events to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation, enacting laws to regulate and limit overexploitation and illegal hunting, and fostering community participation among individuals and sectors.

The Quality of Life Program listed Jabal Fifa among the most prominent tourist attractions in the Kingdom, and among the six most important landmarks for guided tours in the region. There are various sports activities that can be enjoyed in the area, such as bungee jumping, skydiving, and wingsuit flying.

Jabal Fifa is well-known for its diverse range of crops, including grains, fruits, vegetables, and aromatic plants. Coffee is one of the most important and best crops, and it is famous for its high-quality coffee.
