Al-Majma'ah Chamber of Commerce, or al-Majma'ah Chamber, is a non-profit organization that promotes diverse commercial activities across various sectors. It also represents businesses in ministries, authorities, and public institutions and works to protect and develop them in al-Majma'ah Governorate.
Al-Majma'ah Chamber is one of five Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh Province within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These chambers are the Riyadh Chamber, al-Majma'ah Chamber, al-Kharj Chamber, the Zulfi Chamber, and al-Quway'iyyah Chamber. The chamber is headquartered in al-Majma'ah Governorate and is a member of the Federation of Saudi Chambers.
Objectives of al-Majma'ah Chamber
The chamber strives to empower the private sector to fulfill its role through services that enhance its activities to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, positioning the chamber as a leader in economic fields and community development in al-Majma'ah Governorate within the geographical scope of its services.
Roles and services of al-Majma'ah Chamber
Al-Majma'ah Chamber works to enhance the entrepreneurial climate in the governorate by building partnerships and collaborative relationships with both the public and private business sectors to support economic development. It also aims to stimulate small businesses to remain resilient in the labor market, assist them in overcoming challenges, and increase awareness of available programs and resources for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and productive families.
The chamber seeks to grow its membership through marketing initiatives emphasizing the services, activities, and advantages provided by its membership. It also works on developing these services and leveraging the chamber's resources to achieve financial stability and sustainability.
Furthermore, the chamber focuses on resolving commercial disputes, serving as a link between the private and public sectors. It represents businesspeople before public authorities and ministries and organizes training courses and workshops, in addition to commercial and economic seminars and conferences.
Organizational structure of al-Majma'ah Chamber
The chamber enjoys a legal personality and financial and administrative independence. It operates under the Ministry of Commerce and comprises a general assembly, a board of directors, and a general secretariat. The chamber has five specialized committees: the Commercial Sector Committee, the Service Sector Committee, the Industrial Sector Committee, the Real Estate Sector Committee, and the Contracting Sector Committee.
Al-Majma'ah Chamber's Board of Directors is formed every four years, and its members are appointed by a decision from the Minister of Commerce. The number of members must not exceed eighteen, and no more than one member may be elected to represent a single commercial establishment. Additionally, no member is entitled to run for more than two consecutive terms; a term is considered completed if it exceeds two years.
The Board of Directors meets at least once every two months (sixty days) upon the chairman's invitation. An emergency meeting may be convened at any time, as deemed necessary, and the invitation must include the meeting agenda.
Al-Majma'ah Chamber's Board of Directors is responsible for approving its general policies and developing plans, programs, and projects to support its functions. The board also reviews drafts of administrative and financial regulations, employee-related policies, governance frameworks, and training and scholarship guidelines and submits them to the General Assembly for approval.
The board of directors also manages fixed and movable assets, represents the chamber in matters of leasing, litigation, borrowing, and accepting donations, and oversees its performance and quarterly reports. It reviews the annual report, final accounts, and proposed budget for approval before submitting them to the General Assembly for endorsement and providing a copy to the Ministry of Commerce.
The board is responsible for appointing and terminating the services of the Secretary-General of the chamber, forming sectoral and internal committees, and delegating them as deemed appropriate.
